Street Fighter X Tekken

Yes it true....Street Fighter X Tekken is the new crossover game from Capcom and Namco. While some fans love the ideas, some hate it to its core. Gameplay was shown with Ryu fighting Kazuya. The gameplay looked like Street Fighter 4, only with a tag team ultra included. Why this game is being made is anyones guess, however I never saw a demand for this game anywhere....

Two new character in Super Street Fighter 4?

Gootecks showed a online pic the arcade version of Super Street Fighter 4 with two new character slots. Ono had always talked about adding new characters to the "Super" as the game was made for DLC. I for hope that more 3rd Strike characters (Yun and Yang) are in the game. This is very exciting news to the Street Fighter world as two new character could be one of your favorites. We  will have to see what happens in the next couple of week or saturday at Comic-Con.

Namco VS. Capcom: Tekken vs. Street Fighter!?!?!?

On the Eventhubs site, they posted a blog that talks about Namco vs. Capcom. The two companies famous for the Street Fighter (Capcom) and Tekken (Namco) fighting game series. It has been said that Namco will make their version of the game using the Tekken 6 fighting engine and Capcom using their Street Fighter 4 engine. While this is still a rumor, it could but interesting to see how fans react to the news if it is true. Can you picture Ryu doing a side step or Jin Kazama firing Hadoukens? The plus side both companies are umaking their own version of the game, then 3D and 2D fighting fans alike COULD be happy. However Ono said that the Street Fighter 4 series will not stop with the arcade version of Super Street Fighter 4. Is this what he was refering to?

Super Street Fighter 4 New Blood fighters!

The "4" series seems to be well into the mainstream around the world. Gamerbee (Adon player who beat Justin Wong, the U.S. Champion at EVO 2010) was given a hero's welcome when he returned home to Taiwan at the airport. He was interviewed on a new channel (in taiwan) while showing off some off his skills on the air.

Its seems that there are "hidden" players out ther who seem to have a lot skill. A Fei Long player named Inthul beat Sanford Kelly at East Coast Throwdown 2. Inthul who I believe played the Soul Caliber games, showed great skill, going as far as getting a perfect on Sanford.

Skill of Player or the power of the character?

In a video Street Fighter player DSP posted, he says some interesting things about some of the stronger characters in the Street Fighter 4 Series. One of the things he talks about is how Sagat who was by far the strongest character in SF4, got nerfed. Because of this nerf, many people stopped playing him because he wasn't as good. Now when I saw this video, it did bring of some interesting questions. It seems as though in the USA, the top teier characters are praised and only learned, leaving the other lower tier characters to the waste side and no one ever finds out their true potential. Super Street Fighter 4 is a very balanced game. No chacrater is over powered, and you can learn a character you wish to and do well. One of the points made in the video is in Street Fighter 3:3rd Strike, some of the only characters you saw played was Yun, Chun-Li, and Ken (the big three). A good example of this is if you watch EV0 2008 3rd Stike tournament. In every match you saw in the EVO 2008 tournament DVD, you saw Chun-Li. Chun,Chun,Chun,Chun. All day. Its safe to say that 3rd Strike was not a very balanced game to most people. The 4 series changed that. However in the USA you still get the same top tier characters played. While some players still play who they want, they are told to switch to another just to win, forceing them in a way to play a character they really don't wish to. This takes away some enjoyment of the game without question and takes away from the game as some lower tier character's full potential will never be reached. There was no Sagat in the top 8 at EVO this year. Is it because when he got nerfed, players showed their true colors as medicore players? The game so far seems to be all about skill as no one thought that Justin Wong would lose to an Adon, as many people thought Adon was not very good. But as the Samurai say: " A sword is only as strong as it's master....."

Here's the Youtube vid of DSP talking about what he thinks of the game:

NEW STREET FIGHTER GAME !?!?!?

Capcom's Yoshinori Ono updated his Twitter showing a image of Ryu and two remotes (Xbox 360 and PS3). In his Twitter he says that:

I'm earnestly making all necessary arrangements about release content of tip-off for SSFIV Panel at ComicCon!!

In a eariler post, I stated that Ono said at EVO 2010, that the "4" series won't end with the Arcade version of Super Street Fighter 4. Whatever he means by that, it is sure to be a treat for the fans when he shows it at ComicCon in a couple of weeks. Is it a patch that adds new characters as well as new moves? Or is it a new game all together? Time will tell.....

Welcome to FiercePunch INC.

Hello, fighting fans. This is the first ever post in the FiercePunch INC blog, and what better time than after EVO Fighting Game Championships 2010 in Las Vegas, Nevada . In this blog I want to talk about what happened at the tournament. There were alot of upsets and drama and this also was the biggest Evo of all time. Producer of Street Fighter 4, Yoshinori Ono was in attendance. Ono surprized everyone saying, that the arcade version of  Super Street Fighter 4 was not the end to the Street Fighter 4 series.  He couldn't say more but this will excite SF heads around the globe. I for one hope it's another patch giving some of the lower tier character more moves. But we will see soon, as he says it will be revealed in about two weeks.

Now getting back on the the fights,I have the results for the Street Fighter tournaments: Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix and Super Street Fighter 4.

7. RyRy (Ryu)

As you can see from the results, Justin Wong, the U.S. Champion, did not make the top 8. He was beaten by Gamerbee (a player from Taiwan from what I heard). Gamerbee played Adon, a character underrated from the start, and beat Justin 2-1. Another fighter, Sanford Kelly was DQ'ed after he stopped in mid-match pausing the game to fix his controls. In EVO rules, doing that loses you the round, giving it to your opponent. Sanford looked amazing in his fight before, easliy beating John Choi 2-0. With both players out, Ricky Ortiz was one of the only players left for the U.S.A. Umehara Daigo, the best Street Fighter player in the world, beat Ricky 3-1, defending his EVO title from 2009. Both tournaments were well played and shout out to Snake Eyez for winning the HD tourney.  I have posted a video saying how I felt about the Super Street Fighter 4 tourney as a whole, and how I felt about Justin Wong lossing to Gamerbee, and everyone reactions to it. Also talked about in the video is what I think of the top players and the players that look up to them, and how I think they take it. Make sure to leave your comments and tell how you felt about EVO as a whole.
